Omkara e adaptarea cinematografică a regizorului Vishal Bhardwaj pentru opera "Othello". Filmul a câştigat 13 premii la festivaluri de film indian şi asiatic. În ciuda aranjamentelor pentru căsătorie făcute de tatăl său.
Dolly fuge cu Omkara. Mishra, tatăl fetei, pretinde că Dolly a fost răpită şi angajează un asasin să-l omoare pe Omkara, presupusul răpitor. Omkara, care e un politician important, e avertizat de Bhaissab, dar acesta plăteşte apoi fiind împuşcat şi rănit. Omkara e nevoit să-l numească pe Keshav să-i ia locul în politică, dar îşi regretă curând decizia.
